Tomi Ahonen Talks To Mike Taylor About The Future Of Mobile

I attended the excellent “Fresh Thinking” event yesterday hosted by Jobsite. The two main speakers for the event were Tomi Ahonen – http://www.linkedin.com/in/tomiahonen – who talked about Mobile and Tony Fish – http://www.linkedin.com/in/tonyfish – who talked about the new rules for the digital age.

After the event I managed to catch up with Tomi and I asked him to explain how he saw the future of mobile.

There are now over 5 billion mobile phones on the planet and it was interesting to hear just  how popular SMS still is, even though it has beeen around for many years.

It was also interesting to hear how a company like Coca Cola allocates its mobile marketing budget:

  • 70% Mobile Messaging
  • 20% Mobile Web
  • 10% Smartphone Apps

The message I took away is that the world is definitely going mobile, and that recrutiment most certainly needs to be a part of it!
